Is a small collection the right option?
You do not need a full van or a whole room to ask for removal. A known list can be one chair, two bedside tables, or the last items left after a move. This is for things you no longer want, not delivery of belongings to another address.
Compare a donation, council collection or self-drop-off if those suit the items and your ability to move them. Paid help may be useful when you want several types collected together or cannot carry them out.
Useful next steps
Build a short list without counting things twice
Name each larger item and give the quantity. Then add counted bags or boxes with a rough description of their contents. “Three bags of clothing” and “three bags of broken tiles” need different handling, even when the bags look similar.
For example: one armchair, one chest of drawers and three bags of clothing. A photo showing those pieces explains the same list, not an extra load. For a bed, say whether the mattress, base or frame and headboard are included, without counting the same part twice.
Different categories can belong to the same collection
You can describe a mattress and washing machine together; you do not need a separate enquiry for every item category. Keep relevant details attached to the right item, such as which one is upstairs or still connected.
WeMovers reviews the complete list and access before confirming a quote. The whole collection matters more than whether every item appears under the same service name.
Useful next steps
Flag the exceptions without opening unknown containers
Name dense waste, paint, chemicals, sharp objects or unknown containers separately. Do not open or sort unsafe material to identify it; acceptance needs checking. A small quantity is not automatically light or straightforward.
Electrical items and batteries should stay separate from ordinary rubbish. Leave embedded batteries in devices rather than taking equipment apart.
If it is mainly an uncounted pile
If you cannot sensibly list the contents as individual items, describe the pile, give approximate dimensions and include photos if you can take them safely. Explain whether it includes heavy material, electrical items or unknown contents; do not climb on it or move unsafe waste for a photo.
If your job has both known furniture and a separate pile, identify which items belong to the list and which waste is additional. You can describe both without counting the furniture twice.
Useful next steps
One address or more than one?
A small collection can include items from different rooms at one address. Tell the collector which floors and access routes are involved; there is no need to bring heavy items together for a quote.
If items are at two addresses, state both before agreeing the job. A one-address price does not automatically include a second stop. Mark anything staying, check accessible belongings and update the list if the collection changes.
Agree the complete small job
Compare the total for the items, access and any agreed extra work. A small item count does not make every job the same price. Once you have the list, the small-clearance service is the place to check the collection scope and request a quote. A minimum collection charge may apply; check that the quoted total includes it.
A preferred date remains a request until confirmed. You can decide whether the collection suits you after reviewing the full price.

Your next steps
- List each known item and quantity once.
- Keep retained belongings and unknown contents separate.
- Check a donation or council option if it suits the items.
- Agree the collection address, access and full scope.
Describe the complete list, quantities and access in one enquiry. We’ll review the collection before confirming the scope and price.

Is one item enough to ask for collection?
Yes. Start with the item you actually want removed. You do not need to add work to fill a van.
What if I do not know what to call an item?
Use a plain description and say what you know about its size, material and condition. A photo can help if it is safe to take one. You do not need to guess an exact item name.
Can I add more items later?
Update the collection list before the visit and check whether the agreed price or arrangements change. Do not assume a quote for a short list covers whatever else is added.
